Launching new digital tools to 20,000 sellers for a global tech company

Context & challenges

Cisco asked our agency to deliver a brand new sales methodology to 20,000 sellers and partners. Implementing a new sales methodology is both difficult and risky. To heighten the challenge, Cisco’s launch was at their global sales event in Vegas — one of the most competitive attention landscapes we could possibly have taken on. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Get it wrong and you have 20,000 sceptics and a messed-up business. But get it right and you hit the jackpot.

Solution

Two insights drove this creative project.  

1) Everything had to be visual without audio.  

2) Everything had to be mobile first.  

Our goal was to build original content that would push the boundaries of what had ever been seen before at a sales conference. We created a multi-media feast, where sellers could engage with the sales methodology in a democratic and easy-access format. Our suite of highly interactive digital tools included mobile games, conceptual animations, and a mobile-friendly eBook. We created seven themed stands, one for each key moment of the sales methodology. Our team then built a diagnostic tool that allowed users to find their personal pain points and get specific resources to help them grow and learn. Everything could be personally tailored.

Results

The end product was visually brilliant. Key digestible information with unique activation was used to embed the new sales framework at the very heart of Cisco’s sales organisations.

The digital nature of the assets made for a timeless giveaway from the event — the bespoke eBook, animations, and diagnostic tool are now permanent assets on the Cisco system. Sellers can delve into the content again and again, at a time and place that suits them. Ongoing, engaging methodology reinforcement at no extra cost. Our client considered this work a huge success.
